To earn voodoo fishing money, sell fish to a Fish Monger, who pays by the pound. Check the selling interface for Bounty Tags that mark bonus-eligible catches, take junk to Rusty Remy, and sell unwanted rods, reels, and bait to Dealin' Delores at the Pawn Shop. Choosing a quota reward with your crew also gives ordinary fish sales a shared progression goal.
This guide uses official material checked on October 19, 2026. The selling systems below are documented; the trip-planning advice is editorial analysis, with no playtest or measured earnings benchmark behind it. Start with the beginner guide if you have not completed your first fishing trip.
01
Sell fish by weight at the Fish Monger
The official Steam description confirms payment by the pound. Bring your catch back and inspect the offered sale before deciding what to keep. The reviewed sources do not establish a current price table for every species, so rarity alone is insufficient evidence for a guaranteed best earner.
A practical first target is a catch you can identify, reach, and land with your available tackle. Use the fish guide to understand Journal clues and the casting guide if getting bait into the water is still the obstacle. Improving that part of the loop gives you a specific problem to solve before chasing an impressive-looking target.
02
Check the Bounty Tag before selling
The September 1 update added visible Bounty Tags for fish carrying an active Bounty multiplier. Look for that tag in the shop's selling interface rather than assuming a fish qualifies because its name resembles a bounty description. The source confirms a multiplier but does not supply a verified current numeric rate.
Use the active board to choose a target before departing. Then check whether its habitat and bait requirements fit your equipment and planned route. Our recommendation is to pursue a bounty when those pieces line up; a bonus label cannot tell you how long an unfamiliar catch will take. The bait guide explains how to narrow the target pool.
03
Choose which Monger's quota to build
There are two Fish Mongers with separate Bounty Boards and Quota meters. Louis is at Fort Arbre, and each Monger offers a different quota reward to pursue. The developer explicitly recommends looking ahead at rewards and choosing a prize with your crew.
That makes the selling destination a group decision. Before splitting up, agree whether the next reward or a particular active bounty is your immediate priority. A nearby sale might suit one trip, while contributing toward an agreed upgrade might suit another. There is no sourced fixed rule that Caesar or Louis always produces the best return. For a group, the co-op guide develops the coordination side of that choice.
04
Pick up the cooler upgrade you unlock
Fish sales contribute to Dock Quotas, whose rewards include larger coolers and movement upgrades. The September update also states that upgrading a cooler requires collecting the Cooler Upgrade pickup that appears at the relevant Fish Monger's location. Filling a meter and collecting the resulting upgrade are separate steps worth checking before you depart again.
The Dock Quotas announcement describes these upgrades as session-only and says the cooler resets when you leave the lobby. Plan around the capacity you have now. A larger cooler can support a longer haul between sales, but carrying more also gives you more catch to protect on the return journey.
05
Take junk to Rusty Remy
Rusty Remy's Junk Shop buys junk; the Fish Monger no longer accepts it. The June shop update establishes that distinction. Sort fish and junk before planning your selling stops so a return journey has the right destination.
Read current shop offers before valuing a haul. Patch 1.0.1 on October 16 adjusted some junk and weight values and removed the whiskey bottle from the Junk Shop. Those changes make older exact-value lists a poor basis for a current farming plan. They also mean an old shopping route that depends on buying that bottle needs revisiting. This guide does not present a complete sellable-item catalog.
06
Sell genuinely spare tackle to Delores
The Pawn Shop announcement confirms that Dealin' Delores buys extra rods, reels, and bait. Use this outlet when equipment no longer has a role in your next trip. Check a spare against your target's requirements before treating it as disposable; the rods and reels guide covers that equipment decision.
Her used stock comes from tackle sold to her or permanently lost by players during the current session. It is not a fixed daily inventory. The announcement says lost gear may appear for purchase, which makes checking her trays reasonable after a loss. It does not promise that every desired replacement will be available whenever you need it.
07
Keep materials with a named purpose
Selling every non-fish item immediately can conflict with your next enchantment. Inspect the in-game Recipe page and keep the materials for a recipe you intend to use. For example, the July enchantment update documents combining a rod or reel with a Skull for one-time protection against loss.
Balance that use against the risk of another trip. The store description warns that death costs your carried catch and equipped tackle. Our advice is to bank a worthwhile haul when continuing would expose it for an uncertain extra catch, while retaining materials attached to a clear goal. The monsters guide helps you prepare for threats rather than treating every unsold item as future profit.
08
Give equipment spending a job
Before buying, name the limitation you want to fix: reaching your target water, fishing its depth, or handling the catch. Compare the available tackle against that job. The October 1 balance pass changed most rods and reels, so an older strongest-item ranking deserves another look against current stats.
The September mission update also introduced a free shop reroll with a timed cooldown. Check whether it is available before committing money to more shopping. No verified cooldown duration is provided here. A purchase is easier to evaluate when you can explain which part of your next fishing trip it should improve.
09
Make each return trip accomplish something
Before leaving, choose one catch goal, a selling destination, and any recipe materials you will retain. On returning, check Bounty Tags, sell at the chosen Monger, collect an unlocked cooler upgrade, and visit the appropriate shop for junk or spare tackle. Use the map guide to build routes around recognizable areas.
Afterward, note what caused an unproductive detour: the wrong vendor, unsuitable tackle, an unclaimed upgrade, or a target without useful habitat evidence. Change that one decision next trip. This is a way to reduce avoidable travel and spending; it does not establish a universal farming route or a cash-per-minute guarantee.
